Your website name - called your domain name - is what your customers would search for to find your website. The general rule is kept it short, simple and catchy.
What do you need to consider when choosing your domain name?
Does the domain name reflect what your web site is about? Should it be the name of your company or business or is it better to choose popular keywords? If your business is already established and people know it well, try to get the name of your business as your domain name. If your business is not well known and if your major product name is available as a domain name, it would make more sense to go for that. For example if your new business is called Dixon Supplies and you sell garden tools, www.gardentools.com would be a much better option than www.dixonsupplies.com because people will search the internet for garden tools rather than for the name of your business (especially if you have just started out).
Do you need a .com or another TLD (top level domain) or one which reflects your country. (e.g. .co.uk)?
If you plan to sell world-wide, go for a .com or .net. If your target market is the UK than go for .co.uk. I would go further and suggest you get all three domains if they are available. (Customers will not always remember if your site is a .com or a .co.uk and the last thing you need is losing business to some other guy with the same domain name but with a different extension).

Website Hosting
After designing and finishing your website, you need to host it (put it on a server so that people can find it on the internet). I offer web hosting on a shared Apache server to whoever uses my web design services and the first year of hosting is free of charge! After the first year, a yearly fee is applicable.
